【TCS Experiential Learning Friday | G7-G9 One Day Adventure Outdoors at APA Ecological Park】
At first, students were simply excited to get on the bus. Soon, they realized this field trip was something different. From exploring plants and insects during the ecological tour to high-energy physical challenges—and the much-anticipated pellet gun battle— the day was filled with surprises. Lunchtime brought another highlight. Lucas and Morgen’s cooking skills truly stood out, leaving everyone genuinely impressed. With humour and energy, the coaching team guided st

【TCS OAEP WEEK 4 |G11 Syakaro Historic Trail (3-Day Camping): The Journey Begins with a Choice】
Before the actual departure, there was hesitation. And in the moment the choice was made, the journey had already begun. At around 8:30 a.m., everyone gathered at TCS— checking gear, repacking, bringing classroom preparation into real focus. This OAEP expedition was led by a professional outdoor education team headed by Assistant Professor Hsiao Ju-Hsuan, with Founder Andy joining the journey and walking alongside the students. The convoy then set off. Some slept.

【TCS OAEP WEEK 3 |Getting Ready for the Challenge—and for Ourselves】
On January 9, the final week before departure began. And this OAEP journey had already become a challenge—long before the mountain. In the classroom, it’s not just about gear and routes, but the quiet inner struggle: “Am I really able to get through this?” For first-time G10 students, teachers begin with mindset— helping them voice their fears, unpack the unknown, and gradually understand the environment, weather, and risks ahead. For experienced G11 students,

【TCS Friday Experiential Learning|G7–G9 Journey to Guanyin Mountain: A Challenge of Self-Discovery】
On this day, our G7, G8, and G9 students set out for Guanyin Mountain— three routes, three learning tasks. Whether bird-watching, exploring military heritage, or practising kindness through the tea-offering activity, students learned about themselves and one another through real-world experiences. G7 observed the wind, the sky, and the rhythm of nature; G8 moved through historic military sites, working as a team and reflecting on what they would choose to protect; G9 e

【TCS OAEP WEEK 2 |G11 Advanced Skills】
Last Friday, our G11 students stepped into OAEP Week 2 — and the “+1 experience level” was obvious from the start. During the cooking session, two styles quickly appeared: the mini–professional kitchen teams — sharp knife skills, confident seasoning, steady fire control; and the silent synergy teams — few words, perfect timing, surprisingly delicious results. With the same ingredients (eggs, rice, cabbage, onions), some groups plated three dishes with ease, while others

【TCS OAEP WEEK 2 | G10 Skill Building in Action】
Last Friday, our G10 students stepped into their first real skill-building day, and the cooking session immediately revealed one thing —you can absolutely tell who cooks at home. Some groups started strong: confident chopping, bold seasoning, steady fire control. Others were wonderfully chaotic — utensils everywhere and constant calls of “Where’s the water?!” But just like Week 1, teamwork was everything. Some fetched water, some chopped vegetables, others stood by

【TCS Friday Experiential Learning|G7-G9 Rowing in Rhythm!】
Under the bright autumn sun, TCS middle school students (G7–G9) took on a lively Dragon Boat Experience at Bitan Riverside. Led by certified coaches, students warmed up, practiced their paddling rhythm, and eventually raced 200 meters—discovering how teamwork turns effort into flow. One G8 student shared that he had joined the same activity last year as a G7. When asked if he still felt nervous, he laughed and said, “Not this time.” But once the race began, his team’s c
