Before the actual departure,
there was hesitation.
And in the moment the choice was made,
the journey had already begun.
At around 8:30 a.m., everyone gathered at TCS—
checking gear, repacking,
bringing classroom preparation into real focus.
This OAEP expedition was led by a professional outdoor education team
headed by Assistant Professor Hsiao Ju-Hsuan,
with Founder Andy joining the journey
and walking alongside the students.
The convoy then set off.
Some slept. Some sat quietly.
When they opened their eyes again,
they were already at the trailhead.
Walking, camping, and cooking together,
someone even followed through on an early joke—
a carefully vacuum-sealed steak,
shared one evening under the trees.
Fatigue, excitement, and lived experience
slowly became part of who they are becoming.
As Andy shared along the way,
in a time when reality is increasingly hard to tell apart,
what can never be replaced by AI
are these experiences,
truly lived and deeply felt.
