Last Friday, our G10 students stepped into their first real skill-building day, and the cooking session immediately revealed one thing —you can absolutely tell who cooks at home.
Some groups started strong: confident chopping, bold seasoning, steady fire control.
Others were wonderfully chaotic — utensils everywhere and constant calls of
“Where’s the water?!”
But just like Week 1, teamwork was everything.
Some fetched water, some chopped vegetables, others stood by the stove until lunch finally came together.
Some groups finished quickly; others took their time — every meal was a shared effort.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to tent building:
unfolding the tent, setting up poles, tying knots, hammering stakes.
Once again, some groups worked with impressive speed, while others learned step by step — with plenty of laughter.
From cooking fires to tent ropes,
each messy, hands-on moment sparked a new skill
and quietly built the abilities they’ll need for the adventures ahead.
We can’t wait to see what discoveries and growth the next OAEP session will bring!
