On Friday afternoon, students stepped into the world of still-life sketching.
Instead of real objects, they worked from “finished sketches” as references — glass cups, metal kettles, and the challenge of capturing transparency and reflection on paper.
The sound of pencils against paper became the quiet but powerful background of the classroom.
Some bent low, tracing the refraction of glass.
Some looked up, imagining the layers of light and shadow.
Some furrowed brows, determined to capture that bright highlight.
Line by line, blank sheets filled with strokes and shading.
In their calm, focused expressions, even grayscale sketches seemed to carry a world of colour.
