【TCS Artisan Workshop – Dual-Purpose Leather Drink Carrier】

In this hands-on leathercraft workshop, our Grade 7 and 8 students stepped into the role of junior artisans, taking on the challenge of creating their very own dual-purpose genuine leather drink carriers—from scratch and entirely by hand!

Led by the professional yet lighthearted Mr. Lucio, students learned not only the techniques of dyeing, cutting, punching, edge-finishing, attaching snaps, and stitching, but also explored the different types of leather and how their textures and origins influence their uses.

In the morning, the tables gradually filled with colourful dyed hides as students experimented with their own creative palettes. In the afternoon, it was all about patience and precision—stitch by stitch, they transformed raw materials into unique pieces that reflect their personality. Some chose sleek, classic browns; others went bold with rich purples—no two drink carriers looked the same, just like no two students are ever alike.

The most joyful moment came at the very end: with the projects complete, Mr. Lucio surprised everyone with a refreshing drink. Each student placed their beverage into the handmade carrier they had just finished—beaming with pride as they returned to their seats, creations in hand.

At TCS, we believe learning can be practical, personal, and full of heart. And on this day, it was all of those things—and more. From the proud “I actually made this!” to the radiant smiles, every moment was a beautiful reminder of what meaningful education looks like.
