Scientific Inquiry × Logical Thinking × Collaborative Teamwork
Every scientific breakthrough begins with curiosity and keen observation. This semester, the TCS Experiential Learning Friday introduces the "Experimental Exploration: From Observation to Innovation", an immersive five-session program designed to develop students' critical thinking, research skills, and teamwork. Through hands-on experimentation, students will not only experience the excitement of scientific discovery but also learn how to construct a complete research project from the ground up.
🔹 Course Highlights
✅ Integrated with the middle school curriculum, deepening subject knowledge through interactive experiments while understanding the essential framework of scientific research
✅ Exploring three major scientific domains—Energy, Environment & Ecology, Biotechnology, and Future Technology & Innovation—where students will learn to design and execute their own experiments
✅ Emphasizing real-world applications, encouraging students to analyze how scientific discoveries impact daily life and develop a complete research proposal
🚀 #Hydrogen-Oxygen Rocket Experiment Recap In this exciting exploration, students tackled a series of engaging challenges—from electrolysis reactions to rocket propulsion—enhancing their problem-solving skills and critical thinking along the way.
They first conducted a water electrolysis experiment, comparing the efficiency of pure water and sodium hydroxide solutions to understand how conductivity and ion concentration influenced reaction rates. In the combustion reaction challenge, students examined the powerful thrust generated by hydrogen-oxygen combustion, delving into the principles of gas reactions and energy transformation. To wrap up, they designed an ignition mechanism to optimize rocket propulsion, exploring key concepts in combustion efficiency, thrust engineering, and aerodynamics.
Through this hands-on experience, students bridged theory and application, gaining valuable insights into how scientific principles drive technological innovation.
